Blur a license plate before you post the photo
Drop in a photo, drag a box over the plate, download a blurred copy. It never leaves your browser.
Your photo is processed entirely in your browser using canvas — it is never uploaded to VehiclePhoto or anywhere else. Close the tab and it’s gone.
What it does
Pick a photo from your computer or phone, drag a box over the license plate — or over a face, a driveway sign, anything else you'd rather not publish — and this tool pixelates that area and hands you a new copy to download. The original file never leaves your device, because the blurring happens on your own screen, in your own browser, with nothing uploaded anywhere.
Who it’s for
A private seller posting a car, boat or RV on a marketplace who doesn't want their plate searchable next to their name and address. A dealer whose staff snap a quick trade-in photo before the plate comes off. Anyone who's ever posted a listing and only noticed the plate was readable after it was already live.
When you need it
Before you post any photo that shows a readable license plate, a driver's license left in the glovebox, or a face you didn't mean to include. A plate number combined with a location and a name is more identifying than most sellers realize — blurring it costs ten seconds and doesn't change the vehicle in the photo.
What to watch for
Blur a slightly bigger box than you think you need — a plate at an angle can still be partly readable at the edges of a tight crop. If you're posting several photos of the same vehicle, check every angle that shows the plate, not just the one you noticed first — rear shots hide it just as often as front ones expose it.
Questions
License Plate Blur, answered.
Does my photo get uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything happens locally in your browser using HTML canvas — the photo is read from your device and never sent over the network. That's true for every tool on this page, not just this one.
Can I blur more than one area, like a plate and a face?
Yes — drag a new box for each area you want blurred; add as many as you need before downloading.
What file do I get back?
A downloaded copy of your photo with the blur baked in, at the same resolution you started with. Your original file on your device is untouched.
Will the blur look obviously edited?
It's a visible pixelation, not an invisible fix — that's the point. A blurred plate should read as intentionally blurred, so nobody mistakes it for a real, readable plate.
This tool does one photo. VehiclePhoto does your whole listing, automatically.
Upload the photos you already have and get every one of them cleaned, branded and listing-ready — no dragging boxes one photo at a time.
