Resize a photo to a marketplace's own published size — in your browser

Pick a preset built from a marketplace's own published photo size, and get a resized copy without uploading anything.

The resize happens on canvas, in your browser. The file is read from your device and the result is offered back as a download — it never touches a server.

What it does

Pick a preset and drop in a photo. Each preset is a size the marketplace publishes itself: Autotrader’s 640×480 or smaller, Cycle Trader’s 640×480 or smaller, or the 2160×1440 that BoatWizard recommends for Boat Trader, YachtWorld and boats.com. This tool crops your photo to that shape and scales it down to fit, entirely on your own device. It only ever scales down: if your photo is already smaller than the preset, it's left alone rather than stretched up and made blurry.

Who it’s for

Anyone who has a full-resolution photo and needs a smaller copy for a specific marketplace without opening a photo editor. Dealers exporting one listing’s photos across several marketplaces, each wanting a different size.

When you need it

When a marketplace publishes a target size, like Autotrader’s 640×480, and you want a copy sized to match instead of guessing or uploading a file bigger than it needs to be.

What to watch for

This tool only offers presets for marketplaces that actually publish a target width and height — we didn't build one for a marketplace that only says "keep it small." Cropping to a different aspect ratio always cuts something off the edges of the frame, so check the preview before you download, especially on a tight shot.

Questions

Photo Resizer, answered.

Why are there only three presets?

Because only a few of the marketplaces we cover publish an actual target width and height. Where a marketplace only publishes a file-size ceiling or vague guidance, there's no real dimension to build a preset from — so there's no preset for it.

Will this make a small photo bigger?

No. It only scales down. If your photo is already smaller than the preset in either dimension, it's left at its original size rather than stretched, which would make it blurry.

Does resizing crop out part of my photo?

If your photo's aspect ratio doesn't already match the preset's, yes — the edges get cropped to fit, centered on the middle of the frame. Check the preview before downloading.

Is my photo uploaded anywhere during this?

No — the resize happens on canvas, in your browser. The file is read from your device and the result is offered back as a download; it never touches a server.
