Will this photo actually meet the marketplace's own rules?
Pick a marketplace, drop in a photo, and see it checked against what that marketplace actually publishes — dimensions, file size, format. No guessing, no invented thresholds.
Your photo's dimensions, size and type are read locally in your browser — nothing is uploaded or stored anywhere.
What it does
Pick a marketplace — eBay Motors, Autotrader, Cars.com, CarGurus, Boat Trader/YachtWorld/boats.com, RV Trader, Cycle Trader or Equipment Trader — and drop in a photo. This tool reads the photo's width, height, file size and format right in your browser and checks them against that marketplace's own published photo rules, the same ones linked on our photo requirements pages. Where a marketplace publishes a real limit, you get a clear pass or fail. Where it doesn't publish one, we say so plainly instead of inventing a number to check against.
Who it’s for
Anyone about to upload a photo and unsure if it'll get rejected, resized badly, or just look worse than it should because it was too big or too small. Dealers exporting a batch of photos across several marketplaces at once, each with its own rules.
When you need it
Right before you upload — catching an oversized file or the wrong format here is faster than finding out after a marketplace rejects it or silently shrinks it. It's also useful just to see, at a glance, how different one marketplace's rules are from another's.
What to watch for
A marketplace publishing no rule for something — say, resolution — doesn't mean anything goes; it means that marketplace hasn't told anyone what it does internally, and a real limit could still exist. Treat an unpublished spec as "we don't know," not "no limit." And where a marketplace's own pages disagree with each other — Boat Trader's file-size rule is a real example — we show you both numbers rather than pick a winner for you.
Questions
Marketplace Photo Checker, answered.
Where do these marketplace rules come from?
From each marketplace's own published help pages. Every rule links to its source on our photo requirements pages, and this checker uses the same rules.
What if the marketplace I want isn't listed?
The checker covers marketplaces that publish a real photo spec. If a marketplace doesn't publish enough to check against, it isn't listed.
Does this tool see or store my photo?
No. Your photo’s dimensions, size and type are read locally in your browser using standard file APIs — nothing is uploaded or stored anywhere.
Why does it say some specs are 'unpublished' instead of just checking them?
Because that marketplace genuinely hasn't published a number for it. Inventing a threshold to check against would be worse than not checking at all — so we tell you it's a gap instead.
